Editor for 20 Years with 2 of the "Big 5" Publishers
My goal is to work with authors to bring out the best in their work. When I edit, I try to identify and play to an author's strengths, explain what is and isn't working well in an encouraging manner, and provide actionable advice on how to improve the book. Beyond the specific work, I strive to help authors further develop their craft and become better writers.
I’ve always had a passion for books, and enjoy editing a broad spectrum of fiction and nonfiction categories. As an acquisitions editor for twenty years with Simon & Schuster and Hachette Book Group, I’ve had the privilege of working with many dynamic and talented authors, and have edited books that range from award-winning debut novels to New York Times bestsellers.
If you aspire to be a published author, but don't know how to achieve it, I'm available to offer insights and advice. Having looked at countless book proposals, I can offer guidance in preparing your book for submission. I also assist authors, agents, and publishers in other areas relevant to book publishing.
